  1. The show must go on: Michigan Marching Band goes virtual

    While Michigan football continues on, with its first game Oct. 24, the Michigan Marching Band for the first time in its 123-year history will not be joining on the field. Instead the band’s first show will be released digitally in early November.

    The University of Michigan has decided to suspend its undergraduate study abroad programs for the winter term 2021 due to ongoing concerns about COVID-19, the continuing travel restrictions and the planning time needed for students.

    The students in Peter Bodary’s Scientific Inquiry Using Wearable Technology class represent one of four groups that came to campus this fall to experience the lab-based course that uses the latest technology to study how movement and function impact health.

    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fall classes are being delivered in a mix of remote, in-person and hybrid formats, and instructors and students must be prepared for format shifts at any point.
