96 DAYS: A Festifools Film

For about a dozen years Ann Arbor has celebrated the Fool Moon and Festifools at the beginning of April, but the work to prepare the huge paper mâché creations featured in a parade down Main Street begins much earlier. This feature presentation documents the emotional struggle University of Michigan students underwent to participate in the event this year; how making giant puppets put matters such as identity and artistic expression into new perspectives. The video was created by U-M students Ryan Bennett & Cydney Gardner-Brown and was made possible by the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program. Read more about the origin of Festifools.
