After spending some time working in a New York-based food and beverage company, LSA Collegiate Fellow and anthropologist Alyssa Paredes developed an interest in the production and transportation of food in long-chain distances.
This experience, along with a year-long Fulbright Fellowship in Japan, shaped Alyssa’s Ph.D research interests, where she later discovered the complex and hidden history of the global banana trade industry.
